Pickpocketing incidents reported between Target and intersection 225 & Broadway

Lately there seems to be a lot of pickpocketing going on in above mentioned location. They seem to target women with kids and elderly women.
Be aware of your surroundings, keep your valuables in inner (zipper) pockets and be street smart.

Inger, I know this may be an inconvenience but is there anyway that you can recommend that parents who want to make a run over the bridge, call around to other parents and ask if they wouldn't mind tagging along. Or possibly come up with a schedule indicating when and what day a scheduled trip across the bridge is to give ample enough time for parents to make plans; safety in numbers
I know that sometimes parents need items right away but if we can take the time out and connect with other parents, it will just make us better prepared and aware of what's happening.

Actually, in the inwoodkids yahoogroup, they discussed just that, teaming up for safety, getting to a safe and crowded place to call 911 if victimized, witnessing crimes and so forth.

I took the freedom and shared the link to this forum and also the twitter link with the group and encouraged everyone to sign up and get involved.
